1. Lockdown Lowdown with... Levi Owen

First off mate, how are you? Hope you’re keeping well. How are you finding the current situation?

I’m keeping well, doing my bit to stay in shape ahead of next season. It’s a really strange situation we’re in but what can you do. I’d even take one of Dave’s infamous fitness/dance sessions at the moment.

What are you doing to keep yourself entertained?

Bit of everything at the moment. Got some university work, there’s a few series on Netflix that have caught my eye. I’ve been sitting out and enjoying the weather. I even hooked up the PlayStation last week for something to do.

How much are you missing football?

It’s been difficult. I’ve never been one to look forward to pre-season but I can’t wait to get going again.

What were your thoughts on the season coming to an end and it being made null and void?

I thought it was a strange decision if I’m honest. There were definitely teams who deserved to go up and will feel hard done by. Saying that, those teams in 5th and 6th definitely could have snuck into the top 4 so I guess it was a pretty fair decision.

Obviously this was supposed to be your first season with us though now this will have to officially be next season. How did you find your time with us? How did you think the team did overall?

I loved it, honestly. There was a good feeling around the club. Around the middle of the season we struggled to find some form with games being cancelled etc however as it went on, we found some really good form and it makes me excited for next season.

On a personal level, how do you think you performed? There was quite a few clean sheets along the way.

It was a bit different this year, been nowhere near as busy as I have been in other seasons. It allowed me to focus on weaker parts of my game. On the whole I’m happy with my performances. We didn’t concede a lot of goals overall so that’s a general positive.

You joined us on your own but since then your close friends Sam Martin and Lewis Murr have also signed. How good is it to have them in the dressing room given that you all grew up together?

Yeah it’s brilliant. I’ve had so many laughs with the pair of them on and off the pitch. Bringing them both in has been brilliant and they both add a lot to the group.

It’s not just yourself who has settled well at the club, your family have too and they’ve even all got involved with us on the media side of things. Is it good for you to see them getting involved and know that they’re enjoying it too?

Yeah it’s nice to see. My dad has always enjoyed taking photos of the games so to see how the club has bought into that and encouraged it has been great. I know the lads appreciate the pictures and the videos too which is also nice.

Finally, you touched on it before but how much are you looking forward to getting back out there with the lads next season?

I can’t wait. I’ve already spoke to Stret about a team night out when all of this is over. I think if we keep a similar group we’re onto something good. We certainly proved some wrong this season as a few predicted us to be in the bottom two.
